What in the Chakra???
I have been getting so many questions about Chakras from what they are and what they do to is it real or is it evil and bad? So many questions and so much information out there...where do you begin to understand.
Because of my dear friends out there that showed great interest and enthusiasm towards Chakras and the idea that we are energy...please enjoy my series "What in the Chakra???" This series will explain what each Chakra is and the whole idea of every thing in existence is energy...including us! The series will be eight posts long and will be a quick read leaving you with complete understanding. Let's lay the foundation...
What is a Chakra? According to Oxford Languages Dictionary sources, (In Indian thought) there are usually considered to be seven centers of spiritual power in the human body. Another popular dictionary, Merriam-Webster says, according to yoga philosophy, any of the several points of physical or spiritual energy in the human body. In Sanskrit, chakra simply means wheel.
Now there are over 80,000 energy points (chakras) or centers in our bodies. Many of us focus on 7 of them which are considered the seven main chakras and they are associated with organs like the heart and throat, natural elements like fire and earth, shapes, mantras, colors and more.
What are the 7 main Chakras and what do they regulate?
Root Chakra...color Red...located at the base of the spine in the tailbone area... this is the foundation. This chakra links us to the earth giving us the ability to feel firmly rooted in our lives.
Sacral Chakra...color Orange...located at the stomach area of the spine below the belly button...this chakra is the sexuality and sensuality center...creativity, procreation, and the ability to harbor fulfilling relationships.
Solar Plexus Chakra...color Yellow...located at the stomach area of the spine above the belly button...this chakra deals with self-esteem, will power, and personal transformation.
Heart Chakra...color Green...located at the heart area of the spine...this chakra deals with self-love, love for others, compassion, empathy, and most importantly...forgiveness.
Throat Chakra...color Blue...located in the throat area of the spine... deals with communication, self-expression, lies and the ability to speak personal truths.
Third Eye or Brow Chakra...color Purple...locate between the eyes at the brow...home of the 6th sense. This chakra allows us to see what's beyond the apparent for a deeper understanding of the truth. Intuition, insight, and clarity is at it's peak performance when this chakra is balanced.
Crown Chakra...color Violet...located above the head...regulates spirituality, wisdom, consciousness, imagination. This chakra inspires us and connects us to God.
Exciting huh? In the next post, we will explore the first and most fundamental Chakra...the ROOT Chakra. This chakra will help you gain insight into feelings and behaviors that may be limiting and possibly debilitating over the years if unbalanced.
